Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 August 2026
This page is maintained by the Taylor team to answer common privacy questions about the app. Placeholders in square brackets still need to be completed with our final company and legal details before launch.
1. Who we are
Taylor is operated by [Company Name Ltd], registered in [England and Wales], company no. [00000000], registered office [address]. For data protection purposes, [Company Name Ltd] is the data controller. Contact us at hello@talktotaylor.app.
[If applicable: our UK/EU representative and Data Protection Officer details.]
2. What we collect
- Account details: email address and name.
- Career information you add or import: roles, education, certifications, achievements, skills, interests, and documents such as old CVs.
- Preferences you set: goals, target roles and locations, pronouns, right-to-work status, language and theme settings.
- Content you generate: tailored CVs, coach conversations, and application records.
- Basic technical data needed to run and secure the service.
3. How we use it
We use your information to run your account, build your experience bank, generate CVs and suggestions in your own voice, and improve reliability. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your CV content for advertising.
4. AI processing
When you generate or edit a CV, ask the coach a question, or import a document, the relevant content is sent to an AI model provider to produce the output you asked for. We send only what is needed for that task. [Confirm final provider list and their data retention terms.]
5. Legal bases
We rely on performance of our contract with you (running the service), legitimate interests (security, service improvement), and your consent where required, for example for optional analytics or marketing email.
6. Processors and subprocessors
We use third-party providers to host and operate the app: [hosting and database provider], [AI model provider(s)], [email delivery provider], and [analytics provider, if any]. Each processes data on our instructions under a data processing agreement.
7. Storage and retention
Your data is stored on our managed cloud backend with access controls so only your account can read your rows. We keep your data while your account is open. Deleting your account removes your profile, experience bank, generated CVs, chats and uploaded documents. [Confirm backup retention window.]
8. Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. You can delete your account at any time from account settings. To make a request, email hello@talktotaylor.app. If you are in the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in the EU, to your local supervisory authority.
9. Children
Taylor is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Security contact
To report a security issue or suspected vulnerability, email hello@talktotaylor.app with the details. Please do not share the issue publicly until we have responded.
11. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and flag material changes in the app.
